Mary Macpherson

Mary Macpherson is a Wellington photographer whose work is represented in many national collections including Te Papa, the Sarjeant Gallery, the Dowse Art Museum, the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and others. Her work in the 1980s, including series like Urban Landscapes, was among the first in New Zealand to portray the everyday world using colour in subtle and unexpected ways.  She continues this portrayal of New Zealand’s social landscape today.
