Gretchen Albrecht is one of New Zealand's most gifted "second generation" contemporary artists. A hallmark of her work is her assured and confident use of colour.

Albrecht's work is a celebration of colour, form and movement. Canvases in ovals and hemisphere shapes characterise her work, as do large brush strokes and freely applied paint.
