Frank Hofmann
1916 – 1989
Hofmann arrived in New Zealand in 1940 as a refuge from Czechoslovakia. Hofmann worked for the leading Auckland Studio Clifton Firth from 1941-1947. Firth mentored Hofmann and introduced him to the Auckland Arts Community, many of which later became subjects in his photographs.
